For over a century, Jaipur Polo has competed at the highest levels across Europe, India, and the United States. The institution has presented trophies to clubs worldwide, establishing a tradition of international competition rooted in competitive excellence and cultural exchange.
Led today by HH Sawai Padmanabh Singh, Maharaja of Jaipur, the Jaipur Trophy continues this legacy
Legacy & Significance
The Jaipur Trophy emerged from an era when Indian polo dominated international competition. Between 1930 and 1938, Jaipur won the Indian Open Championship every year.
In 1933, Jaipur swept all open tournaments in Britain.
In 1957, the Indian national team, featuring Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II, won the World Cup Polo. These victories established Jaipur among the sport's most formidable institutions.
The trophy reflects this competitive heritage. Presented to clubs across multiple countries, it represents not a single event but a sustained international presence built over generations.
The Revival
The contemporary Jaipur Trophy is a curated, invitation-led international exhibition. High-goal competition is designed for quality, long-term continuity, and cultural exchange
In July, 2025, London witnessed the revival of this trophy at the Guards Polo Club.
Jaipur Trophy 2025
United Kingdom
The Jaipur Trophy was first presented to Guards Polo Club in 1968 by HH Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II. That inaugural match featured HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and HRH The Prince of Wales, now HM King Charles III. The last match was played in 2014
After an eleven-year absence, the trophy returned to Guards Polo Club on July 19, 2025, during the inaugural Indian Polo Day. HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh brought the trophy home in an 8-7 victory on The Queen's Ground.
